Our portfolio company Templafy has raised $15 million in a Series B round from us at SEED Capital together with Preben Damgaard, existing investors, including Insight Venture Partners, Dawn Capital, the company’s founders and other private investors. The company was founded in 2014 and has since raised a total of $40.2 million.

SEED Capital has been a part of Templafy’s journey since their beginning in 2014, where they received our first investment — and a lot has happened since! Templafy is one of the fastest growing IT companies in Scandinavia, and their goal is to eliminate and solve document anarchy in large enterprises.

“Our investors understand the need for solving Document Anarchy just as much as our customers, which puts our solution in a central place in today’s enterprise software ecosystem,” says Jesper Theill Eriksen, CEO at Templafy about the investment. “This additional investment validates our strong backing and the power behind our product.”

Templafy was founded by a team that leveraged more than 15 years of experience in template management and document automation to develop an enterprise cloud service solution, which is now a global market leader within its category, validated by blue chip enterprise customers on every continent.

Their software helps the branding, compliance and IT teams in large enterprises to govern and optimize the way employees create documents, presentations and emails in Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications, making best-practice company content accessible right where employees work.

The year 2018 has shown to be a big year for the company; both in terms of funding, office expansions and awards. Less than 2 weeks ago, Templafy won the title: The Startup of the Year at the 2018 Nordic Startup Awards and received following words from the jury: ‘’Huge potential, long overdue, and incredible track record.’’ Considering the impressive number of companies that were nominated and evaluated by fifty expert ambassadors and jury members, it is a big win and a huge applaud for the company.

In August, Templafy acquired the company Veodin, which added a Berlin office and Veodin’s popular ‘SlideProof’ tool to Templafy, but their expansion did not stop there as the company a few days ago announced opening an office on 5th Avenue in New York.

‘’As Templafy’s first investor, we are delighted to see how Templafy has evolved. With their deep domain knowledge and the right team in place Templafy is now unleashing its full potential and this round will pave the way for accelerating their presence in the US and UK markets.’’ Says Lars Andersen General Partner at SEED Capital about the investment.

In the past year alone, Templafy has more than tripled its revenue and sold over 600K Templafy licenses worldwide, projecting a bright future ahead for the company. We at SEED Capital are very excited about the future of Templafy and believe that they have very promising years ahead!
